Is my image big enough to print?

Check any image, logo or AI art in seconds. See how big it will print sharply on a t-shirt or hoodie, and whether its background is transparent.

How the checker works

For a sharp print you need about 300 pixels for every inch of print (118 pixels per centimetre). The checker fits your image to the print area you choose, works out how many pixels per inch that gives, and rates it using the same four levels as our online designer:

  • Sharp (300 dpi or more): High resolution: you'll get the best possible print result.
  • Good (150 dpi or more): A good resolution: you should still get a great print result.
  • Soft (72 dpi or more): Lower resolution: it may print slightly soft or blurry at this size.
  • Too small (under 72 dpi): Low resolution: it would print blurry at this size, so we'd need to work with you on it.

Most AI tools save images at 1024 to 2048 pixels, which is fine for a chest logo but small for an A4 front print. See our guide to printing AI art for export tips, or read what 300 DPI means.

Whatever the result, you can still order: we check every file before printing and will contact you or fix it if it isn't quite right.
