The Greatest Food Show on Earth

Step right up! A vintage circus-inspired event identity for KERB’s Halloween takeover.

Brief

KERB and Seven Dials Market approached us to transform their Covent Garden food hall into a retro funfair meets haunted house for this year’s Halloween activation. The goal was to create an immersive event experience that felt less spooky, more surprising.

Guests were to encounter wobbly mirrors, playful games and dishes and cocktails with a twist - all tied together with a distinct and cohesive event identity design.

Creative Direction

Leading visual concept development, we took inspiration from vintage circus posters and traditional tattoo flash sheet illustration styles.

Our team combined bold hand-drawn linework, textured shading and a refined retro colour palette to create a world that felt nostalgic yet unexpected. The resulting look was both theatrical and playful - perfectly suited for Seven Dials Market’s dynamic, food-centric atmosphere.

This project showcased our expertise in illustration design, branding for events and experiential identity creation - bringing character, energy and shareable personality.

Deliverables

Working closely with the KERB team, we designed a full event branding toolkit and asset library to roll out across print, digital and environmental applications. Deliverables included:

Event Logo Lockups: The Greatest Food Show (stacked and linear versions)

Icon Suite: Banana, Burger, Juggling Balls, Magic Hat, Beer Stein, Circus Tent, and Circus Tickets.

Each piece was designed to work seamlessly across signage, social media, motion graphics, and printed collateral - providing KERB with a flexible design system they could expand on internally.

Food-Themed Circus Act Posters:

  • The Towering Taco
  • The Ten-Foot Ice Cream
  • The Wingmaster
  • The Tightrope-Walking Tipples

Execution

Once the core illustration and design assets were finalised, we packaged up layered working files and a visual style guide for KERB’s internal team. This ensured they could confidently extend the event’s visual identity across everything from wayfinding and posters to digital campaigns and venue décor.
